We are BIG fans of a hot breakfast in our home. You can’t beat waking up in the morning and having something hot and tasty to enjoy alongside your coffee. I often have bacon and sausages in the fridge, as on occasion I like to make up a breakfast grazing platter.

Sometimes we will order a nice takeaway, such as McDonalds, for a treat breakfast, but I always find that they leave us feeling a little bit sluggish afterwards if I’m honest!

Since our daughter Aurora’s birth we have been enjoying having more time to cook at home, and looking to save some money too! These wraps, and an air fryer grilled cheese, are one of my favourite ways to have a treat without spending lots of time in the kitchen!

If you want to make a Vegan version of this wrap then I love to use Facon and Tofu crumbles. Also, for a slightly healthier breakfast check out this bagel sandwich with avocado, turkey breast and cream cheese. These air fryer chocolate protein oats are delicious too.

Bacon, sausage and egg wrap

Ingredients for this bacon, sausage and egg wrap:

One tortilla wrap – shop bought or my simple homemade tortilla recipe will work

Two pieces of smoked bacon

One sausage patty or two sausages – sometimes I use air fryer sausages or air fryer sausage patties I already had in the fridge

Two eggs

10g butter

Salt and pepper to taste

15ml tomato sauce or other sauce of your choice – I love sriracha hot chilli sauce personally for something a little different!

Ingredients for bacon, sausage and egg wrap - bacon, sausage patties, tortilla wraps, tomato ketchup and free range eggs

Method for making this breakfast wrap:

It’s VERY simple, like a lot of my recipes!

Cook your smoked bacon and sausage patty. Personally I love to use my air fryer for this as it is fast and it requires no additional oil or effort on my part.

Next up make yourself a little mini omelette/folded eggs. What I do for this is melt the butter in a pan, whisk the two eggs together and then add to the pan. Cook for around a minute, moving the pan around to ensure the whole thing is covered.

When the eggs are almost cooked I fold the edges over to make a long rectangle, this is the perfect shape for using in this breakfast wrap.

Now it is time to assemble your bacon, sausage and egg wrap.

Place the tortilla down.

Cover with your choice of sauce.

When building imagine that the tortilla is cut in half vertically, as that is what you’ll want to do at the end.

Add your folded egg/omelette.

Slice your sausage patty in half, or your cooked sausages in half. Place half on the top part of the wrap, and half on the bottom half of the wrap.

Place the two slices of cheese on next.

Add the bacon, one piece to the top half, one piece to the bottom half.

Fold the sides of your wrap over.

Cut in half.

Plate up and enjoy!

Personally I love to make it up with tomato ketchup and then use a little hot sauce on the side for a dip, and an extra kick!

What are the calories in a bacon, sausage and egg wrap?

If you mean this one then 701 calories as I made it. If you mean the one from Starbucks then you’ll find the details here.

To reduce the calories of this recipe then use one egg, one cheese slice, one piece of bacon, half a sausage patty and swap the butter for margarine. This would save you around 280 calories bringing it down to around 420 calories total.

How much does it cost to make this bacon, sausage and egg wrap?

£1.37 is the total cost of the exact ingredients that I used. If you half the ingredients as mentioned above, to save calories, then the total cost is around 75p, though it won’t be anywhere near as filling of course!

Looking to make this into a real breakfast feast?

Instead of using a wrap why not try my soft white rolls recipe? It is really simple, cheap and it will go a treat with the ingredients above!

Also, if you’re looking to add some potatoes in to the mix then be sure to try out my air fryer hash browns or oven baked hash browns recipes. Air fryer frozen french fries would go great with this as a lunch instead!
