Having an air fryer has to be my #1 recommendation when it comes to kitchen gadgets. I own a multi-cooker, a Ninja Foodi, and I love the air crisp / air fry function. It works so well, and if you’ve got a Ninja Foodi be sure to try out my Ninja Foodi roast potatoes. This air fryer rosemary chicken breast is one of my easiest ever recipes to create at home. It takes just a minute or two to prepare and then it cooks by itself, with minimal effort required from you.
As a busy working Mum of two lovely daughters, who likes to meal plan, I want nice easy lunches that I can cook up in next to no time and enjoy with my family.
This chicken breast does NOT disappoint! I make it in batches, so I can prepare 2-3 days of lunches in a row, perfect for my husband who works 12 hour shifts.
Being able to prepare lunches in a batch, in advance, is perfect as I can just open the fridge in the middle of a busy day, after running around behind my 1-year-old, and enjoy a tasty, flavoursome lunch in minutes.
All you need for this recipe is a few herbs and seasonings, 20 minutes of cook time and that is it, tasty, juicy, succulent rosemary chicken breasts with very minimal effort on your part.
I also love to cook this up, leave it in the fridge sliced, and have it on hand ready to serve in salads or sandwiches with next to no prep work required. This stops me from ordering takeaways quite frequently, which in turn saves me a significant amount of money AND is healthier too.
When I’m wanting to make a tasty but fast meal for my daughters I find this a great dish. I can slice it up, and serve alongside air fryer mashed potatoes and air fryer green beans, then my girls have a healthy, wholesome, tasty meal in next to no time! We also love rosemary and garlic roast potatoes with this too!
I love to make air fryer chicken recipes as they’re a great way to have fast dinners or even sandwich fillers.

How to make air fryer rosemary chicken breast:
Remove the rosemary leaves from the sprig and chop finely.
Add to a bowl with the salt, pepper, garlic powder and a few sprays of oil, or 1/4 teaspoon. Mix well.
Brush this mix onto both sides of your chicken breast.
Add to the air fryer basket.
Cook at 180C (360F approx) for 10 minutes.
Turn over and spray lightly with oil again if needed.
Cook at 180C (360F approx) for another 10 minutes.

If you like you can rest the chicken breast for 5 minutes before slicing and serving. Alternatively you can serve up the whole chicken breast alongside the rest of your dinner.

What to serve with rosemary chicken breast?
While you’re using the air fryer why not try some of my other tasty air fryer recipes? Air fryer chips, air fryer frozen chips, air fryer green beans, air fryer hasselback potatoes, air fryer potato wedges or air fryer sweet potato fries would all work VERY well with this recipe.
Bacon mac and cheese pasta bake would be a great side dish too, as would homemade garlic bread made with my own simple garlic butter.
Want to add some vegetables in while cooking?
You’ll want to add more vegetables at least 1/2 way through the cooking time, if not 2/3 of the way through, to avoid burning. I love to add peppers, onions, garlic cloves, green beans, broccolini, carrots or courgettes. All work really well and bring some extra flavour to the dish.
Looking to try this recipe with a different cut of chicken?
Any type of chicken can work for this recipe. You will need to adjust the cooking times, based on the cut of chicken you use. Any cuts with a bone in, such as chicken wings, chicken legs or chicken drumsticks may need a few extra minutes.
Make sure to use a meat thermometer when you’re cooking to check the chicken has reached a safe internal temperature and that the cooking time you use is correct.
This dressing works very well with frozen chicken too, such as frozen chicken thighs, tender, strips or even frozen chicken nuggets.
My preference for this recipe has to be skinless chicken breast fillets, or mini fillets, but you can use skin on chicken breast instead if this if your preference, or just what you have to hand.
Great serving ideas for rosemary chicken breast:
This works so well with a portion of air fryer roast potatoes and my homemade beef gravy too. Onion gravy works really well with this too, as does air fryer stuffing balls and these are delicious as part of a mini roast dinner. Good old air fryer frozen chips work very well too if you’re short on time/effort.
My family also love this air fryer mac and cheese too. It is a great way to bulk up a meal, and cheap too.
Something to note about air fryer recipes is that all air fryers have different sizes, depths and as such the cooking times can vary. All air fryer recipes on this website are intended as a guide, and not a guarantee that the timings will be perfect. Enjoy!
